Mo Records

Mo opened the booth in 2020 inside Liberty Public Market, a converted 1923 Naval Training Center mess hall four miles west of North Park at the harbor. He handpicks every record. When Mark called after 7 PM looking for an Engelbert Humperdinck pressing for the following day’s show, Mo walked the floor, found it in the value bin, described its condition, and held it for next-day pickup. Mark drove down and tipped him just for having the right record.

“I was calling for a record store night before and I needed a record for EngleBert Humperdinck for a show I was attending the next day. I called all other stores late evening and a lot have closed around 7pm. I called Mo Records and even left a message what I needed. I got a text back immediately and I called back and asked if they had a certain Record I needed. I spoke to Mo and he went and took his time to look for it and described it in Mint Condition. I told him I'd be driving down to pick it up because I needed it for tomorrow. He made my night because he had what I needed and it was perfect. It was a pleasure to visit his store at Liberty Station — the record I needed was in the Value bin and it was perfect.”
